Teaching
My goal as a teacher is to impart a sense of wonder and curiosity about the natural world in students while teaching them to think critically in a safe and inclusive space. I believe critical thinking is essential for students to evaluate information in other domains, consequently developing them into engaged citizens.
In my teaching, I am particularly passionate about engaging with empirical ecologists on two fronts: ecological theory and experimental design. I enjoy working with empirical ecologists to explore the role that theory can play in their own research and helping them resource-efficient, informative experiments to test the theory.
